"If you own only one stock — especially if it’s your employer’s stock — then you are a fool. If you are going to buy a $1 million house with no research because you think it’s a good investment, you are a fool. If you don’t realize that your expensive, worthless mutual fund is costing you tens of thousands of dollars over your lifetime, you are a fool. Worry about the things you can control, not the headlines."If you are having trouble sleeping at night(and a lot of people are), then here are ten links to help you understand the present financial crisis and get through this thing without bags under your eyes.

Who Cut the Slack?
Michael Moore gives you permission to download his latest movie. From his website:
“I’m giving you my blanket permission to not only download it, but also to email it, burn it, and share it with anyone and everyone (in the U.S. and Canada only). I want you to use ‘Slacker Uprising’ in any way you see fit to help with the election or to do the work that you do in your community. You can show my film in your local theater, your high school classroom, your college auditorium, your church, union hall or community center. You can have your friends and neighbors over to the house for a viewing. You can broadcast it on TV, on cable access, on regular channels or on the web. It’s completely free — I don’t want to see a dime from this. And if you want, you can charge admission or ask for a donation if it’s to raise money for a candidate, a voter drive, or for any non-profit or educational purpose. In other words — it’s yours!”

Tvizzle, Tvazzle, Tvuzzle, Tvone...
Former Los Angeles Mayor Riordan, a Republican, today formally announced his endorsement of Barack Obama for President. Crossing party lines, Mayor Riordan said he supports Obama because "we want the best person to be President of the United States, whether they are Republican or Democrat, and clearly Obama is the best candidate." Is this dispicable or what?

News Lips Sink Ships
First: The New York Times reports " US President George W. Bush in July secretly approved orders enabling US Special Operations forces to conduct ground operations in Pakistan without Islamabad's prior approval."
Then: Pakistan's army chief General Ashfaq Kayani strongly criticized the raids saying "The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country will be defended at all cost...there was no agreement or understanding with the coalition forces whereby they are allowed to conduct operations on our side of the border."
It beginning to look like US-Pakistan communications could use some attention.

Life Happens
The late, great George Carlin was one that posed the question as to whether or not those buried at Pompeii ever worried about the planet or not. But , maybe you're not worried about natural disaster or the future of species. Perhaps your concern is a little closer to the pocketbook and the stuff you try to keep in it. If that's the case, you might give a scan to 9 of the largest robberies of all time .

God Lives In Iceland
A strong education is important, but having it coupled with an aesthetically pleasing campus is awsome. Here is a list of some of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States.
So, one of the republican candites for the coming election was a beauty queen, but would you cast your vote for this obviously patriotic, yet very shapely marksman? In the world today, I can't see why not.
Were you aware that Icelandic women don’t take the husband’s name when they marry, chiefly because the husband doesn’t have a family name to take? Neither did I until I found and read Some Interesting Facts About Iceland.
